Crispy Oatmeal Cookies with Peanut Butter-Caramel Filling
On my Delish List: Max Brenner
Next stop on my food tour through NYC was Max Brenner. After seeing Wicked on Friday night with my friends Lisa and Michelle, we thought we could use a dose of chocolate for dinner! It was 11:30pm and Max Brenner was hoppin’! Within 10 minutes we were seated and we were all starving. The sweet smell of chocolate fills the restaurant and there incredible chocolate desserts flying out of the kitchen! We had to keep from staring at the other people’s tables.
Since we didn’t eat dinner before seeing Wicked, I was craving something in the dinner category. I ended up going against normal Max Brenner protocol and ordered the Tofu Zen Bistro sandwich. I was less than satisfied with the sandwich. While the guacamole was quite awesome, the rest of the sandwich fell short. The tofu was raw and the bread was cold. I regretted not listening to my mother and ordering the fondue.
Good thing I was with Lisa and Michelle because they both ordered crepes that were INCREDIBLE! Lisa ordered the Peanut Butter Crepe and Michelle went with the Banana Hazelnut Cream Crepe. Talk about a party in your mouth! By the end of the meal, they both had licked their plates clean! I only managed to steal a bite or two, because those girls were NOT sharing!
So my words of advice are, Max Brenner’s is for dessert, not for the food! Also, we managed to get lucky and quickly got a table, but there is usually a crazy long line! But, I’ll tell you one thing, I would wait on line for those crepes!
Stay tuned for the rest of my Delish Adventures in NYC
